Cary Williams

Obituary of Cary Jan Williams

Cary was born January 26, 1956 in Blytheville, Arkansas to her parents Claudie and Dovie Williams.

Cary was raised in Arkansas until she relocated to Lansing, Michigan in 1977. She then took great pride in providing for herself, her children, and others she greatly cared for.

Cary was an outstanding mother. She providing for her 4 children (6 step-children) the best she could without expecting anything in return. She loved them unconditionally and would do anything possible for them.

Cary did not belong to church home however; she had her own personal relationship with our Heavenly Father and was very spiritual.

Cary dedicated over 20 years of work with her employer Peckham, Inc where she recently retired from in September 2018. She also had a passion for caring for others where she did home health care for countless years.

The things Cary loved dearly was her family most of all, the casino, her coffee, and her blues music. She wouldn’t mind cutting a rug every now and then either.

She leaves to cherish the love of her life John Carter; two daughters (Stephanie Williams and Angela (Brandon) Howard); two sons (Michael Williams and Larry Funches III); 8 Grandchildren (Makhi, Michael, Serenity, Michael Jr, Brysonn, Ayva, Ahmiah, and Aubree); Mother in law (Rose Carter); 6 sisters (Odessa of Lansing, MI, Mary of Missouri, Virginia and Delores of Blytheville, Ark, Della and Anita of Osceola, Ark); 5 brothers (Eddie and Mark of Blytheville, Ark, Eric of Saginaw, MI, Randy and Ronnie of Lansing, MI); and 6 step-children, a host of nieces and nephews. Cary was preceded in death by her Father (Claudie Williams); Mother (Dovie Williams); 4 sisters (Doris – TWIN SISTER, Ruth, Donna, Francine); 3 brothers (Thomas, Claudie Jr, and Melvin).

Funeral service is 11:00 AM Friday, Octiber 19, 2018 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.  Visitation will be 10-11 AM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
