Teresa M. Lud

Lansing

Age 95, went home to be with her Lord and her husband on December 19, 2018. Teresa was first and foremost a wife, mom, and grandma.  Music and singing were her second love.   She was born July 28, 1923 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Mauro and Lucia (Tramonte) Gadaleto .  She graduated from Eastern High School and attended Michigan State College (MSU) studying Music. At MSU, she was a member of the Spanish American Club, making friends she has kept over the years.  She sang with the Michigan Opera Company.  Over the years, she appeared on TV: cooking on Martha Dixson’s Copper Kettle Show and as part of WKAR’s documentary of “Italian Immigrants”.  Volunteering was important to her, especially with the St. Lawrence Hospital Assissium League.  She was a church member and choir director for years at St. Therese Church.  Teresa and her family then became a members of St. Gerard Church when the church first opened.   She became the choir director and music teacher at the new parish.  She sang at numerous weddings and funeral masses throughout the Lansing area over the years. The Ave Maria was a song that was often requested. Her love for God, her family and singing will forever be her legacy.

Her spirit will be carried on by her 5 children Camille Lyons, Mara Lud, Mary Lou Lud, Frank B. (Stella) Lud, and Jessica (Antonio) Benavides; 9 grandchildren Francesca and Isabella Benavides; David (Syrah), Victor (Samantha), Moses (Michelle), Marcus, and Mathue Lyons; Rosemarie (Tim) Sabrosky, and Randy (Sarah) Medina; and many great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.  Teresa was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Frank J. Lud; parents, Mauro & Lucia Gadaleto; brother, Joseph Gadaleto.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, Dec 26, with a 7:00 P.M. Rosary in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.  Funeral Liturgy will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, Dec. 27, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein presiding.  Viewing will be 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. Thursday at church.  Rite of Committal St. Joseph Cemetery.   Contributions may be made to St. Gerard’s Music Program in memory of Teresa.  Friends may visit the guest book at www.tiffanyfuneralhome.com
