James R. “Jim” Pollok
Age 76, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather was called home by his Lord on July 11, 2019. Born October 3, 1942 in Dansville, Michigan. Jim retired as a Forman with General Motors after 34 years of service. He enjoyed listening to Christian music. He could always be seen driving his golf cart around the neighborhood. He was an avid fan of M.S.U. sports, often asking friends why they were not wearing green and white.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Darlene K. Pollok; 2 children Russell (Julie) Pollok and Tammy Mahon; 5 grandchildren, Renee (Steve) Meddaugh, Virginia Vermett-Jenkins, Jeremy (Kortney Mizer) Pollok, Georgia (Maxwell Bradstreet) Vermett-Jenkins, and William Vermett-Jenkins; great-granddaughter, Isabella Star Eagle; sister, Susan (Dan) Ware; brother, Marshall Louis “Louie” (Nancy) Pollok; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristen Noel Mahon; and his parents Marshall and Jean Pollok.
Visitation is from 11:00 – 12:00 Noon Wednesday at church with the services beginning at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Capital City Church of God, 6228 Bishop Road, Lansing, MI 48911 with Pastor Dan Stoneham officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Mason, MI. Luncheon will be following interment. Military Honors by Morley S. Oakes V.F.W. Post #701 of Lansing. Contributions in memory of Jim, may be made to Stoneleigh Residence & Hospice of Lansing.
