Obituary of David James Austen

David James Austen 77, of Lansing MI passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

Born in Lansing, Michigan on May 10th, 1942.   David worked for General Motors in Die Tryout 34 years.  He had a love Martial Arts and an Jiu Jitsu Sensi that brought him great tranquility.  Dave also, enjoyed hunting, sailing & boating on Wolf Lake. 

He appreciated a good book, all kinds of music, poetry & thoughtful conversation.

David is survived by his Children: Christine Austen (Scenci Lopez), David Austen Jr. (Kelly), Mary Bills, Wanda Stiles (Virgil Jr), Douglas Patrick (Susan), Brother in law: Basil Humphreys Jr (Carol), Grandchildren: Sarah Netzel, and Alyssa Schrubbe, Josh Snyder, Ethan (Jennifer) Stiles, Jason (Jennette) Weaver, Jamie  (Captain) Pranger, Jeremy  (Ashley) Patrick, Jennifer (Ryan) Wagonschutz, , Great grandchildren:  Cristiano, Brady, Brynn, Elizabeth, Kyle, Cayden, Trinity, Weston. Sisters:  Carolynn (Austen) Hall, Connee (Austen)Smith.  Close family friend: Barb Holton

He was preceded in death by his Parents: Roy & Phedalis. Wife: Nancy Austen, Son: Kenneth R Bills Jr., Daughter: Donna M Patrick . Sister: Elaine Bruner, Brother: Thomas Pylman.  Brother in law: Calvin Humphreys.

How lucky were we to have someone that makes saying goodbye so hard.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Memorial Service will take place on Saturday  January 18th 2020,  1:00 PM  at  Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw Lansing, Mi 48917

Visitation will be held from 12:00PM to 1:00PM
