Our loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother passed away September 6, 2020. Ceresta was born April 20, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan. She lived the majority of her life in the Lansing area.
Ceresta lived life with a passion. Whether she was hosting a party, attending a gathering, or just visiting someone who dropped in, Ceresta would make sure they had a drink and food. She had a way of making a person feel completely appreciated and valued while visiting with them, making sure to find out everything that happened since they had last seen each other and truly make them feel special. She put this same devotion into being a wife and mother, often making sure to have jobs when her son was young that would allow her to drive him to and from school and to be home to have a wonderful home cooked meal for her family at dinner time. As grandchildren entered into her life, she went all in on that, too. Her grandchildren enjoyed many slumber parties, tea parties and picnics in the garden. She enjoyed teaching them to bake and planting flowers with them. She gave her grandchildren a lifetime of memories in far too few years. Ceresta will be dearly missed by those she loved and those who so dearly loved her.
Ceresta is survived by her husband of 50 years, Barry R. Shadduck; son, Joseph A. (Theresa) Shadduck; 2 grandchildren, Sean Shadduck and Kathlynn Shadduck; sister, Carol Ann (Harris) Weaver; 2 brothers, Tom (JoAnn) Cornelius and Chris (Denise) Cornelius; and her nieces and nephews Russell, Raphael, Sondra, Tom, Ryan, KC, Chris, Casey, and many other family members and friends. Ceresta was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Mary Alice Cornelius.
The celebration of Ceresta’s life will be private.
