Adelaide Emma (Tucker) Warden of Lansing, MichiganAdelaide, age 92, was born on September 21, 1915 in Chesaning to Phillip and Frances (Gross) Bitterman. She went home to her Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2008. A resident of Lansing since 1917, she attended Resurrection Grade School and graduated from Eastern High School in 1933. On December 26, 1938 she married Thomas Leslie Tucker in Covington, Kentucky. They were the parents of three Children: Barbara Ann (Richard) Hills of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, Thomas (Betty) Tucker of Halifax, Nova Scotia and James (Jane) Tucker of Medina, Ohio. After Mr. Tucker?s death in 1962, she married James Wallace Warden and acquired two daughters: Helen (Dale) Hawkins of Dewitt and Janet (Michael) Maurer of Lansing. Mr. Warden died on February 19, 1981 and daughter, Helen, on October 7, 2006. Besides the four surviving children, she has 13 grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Philip Bitterman of Clare. At Holy Cross School, Mrs. Warden was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and a leader in the Greater Books reading program. Mrs. Warden was a founding and last member of the St. Bernadette Bridge Club in 1934 and belonged to the Lansing Catholic Women?s Club. She was a devoted ceramist since 1976. She was a volunteer at St. Lawrence Hospital for years and is a member of St. Casimir Church and the Bob Vatter Prayer Group of the Parish. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Casimir Church at 11:00 AM and burial at St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Bill Lugger officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either of Adelaide?s favorite charities, The St. Vincent De Paul Society or to the Danny Thomas Cancer Research Fund.
